Beautiful Noise — a Canadian Music Showcase Radio Show
Tuesday, November 14, 2023 — When I started the Beautiful Noise — a Canadian Music Showcase Radio Show on 92.5 FM "The X", CFBX Campus/Community Radio Station in Kamloops, BC, Canada, in 2021, the name of the show was inspired by Neil Diamond's Classic Hit produced by Canadian Icon Robbie Robertson. I wanted to use Beautiful Noise as the theme song, but we mostly avoid charted/hit versions of Music on Campus/Community Radio.
I looked for a non-hit cover version of the song, but only found two imitation versions, and neither performers were Canadian. That is when I decided to record my own version.
Recording such an Iconic Hit as Beautiful Noise by such an Iconic and Distinct Singer like Diamond offers only two choices: Imitate, or create a new arrangement with a new sound and Own the song. The former defeats the purpose of creating a Recording.
Once again, my brilliant Studio Drummer, Sara Varro, from Nanaimo, BC, Canada, joins me with a delightful Latin beat on our own version. We hope you enjoy Listening to it as much as we did Recording it.
